This Privacy Policy explains how the Tally mobile app ("the app", "we", "us") handles information. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Information you create
Tally is designed to be private. The information you enter — your shopping items, prices, budgets, store names, receipts, and history — is stored only on your device. We do not have access to it, it is not sent to our servers, and there is no account or cloud sync.
Information collected automatically
The app is free and supported by advertising provided by Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google and its partners may collect and process certain information, such as device identifiers, advertising identifiers (e.g. Apple's IDFA, where permitted), approximate location derived from IP address, and app usage and interaction data. This processing is governed by Google's policies:
Tally requests non-personalized ads. On iOS, personalized advertising that relies on tracking would require your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; Tally does not ask to track you.
How information is used
We do not use your on-device data for any purpose other than providing the app's features. Advertising data is used by Google to deliver and measure ads, as described in the links above.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your on-device data with third parties. Advertising-related data is processed by Google AdMob as an independent service provider.
Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control. Deleting the app removes all data it stored locally. To manage advertising identifiers, use your device's privacy settings.
Children's privacy
Tally is a general-audience shopping utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
